Dr. G. Barry Burton grew up in Kentucky and currently resides in the Soulard neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. He received an undergraduate degree and earned a DVM degree from Auburn University. Prior to joining the Carey’s Pet Hospital team, Dr. Burton practiced in Kentucky and Webster Groves in St. Louis, Missouri.

In his spare time, Dr. Burton enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing. He also shares his home with one rescue dog and three, very lazy cats.

Dr. Erica J. Howard grew up in Swansea and currently resides in Belleville, Illinois. She received an undergraduate degree from McKendree University and earned a DVM degree from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining the Carey’s Pet Hospital team, Dr. Howard practiced at the Harrisburg Vet Clinic in Harrisburg, Illinois and the Waterloo Animal Hospital in Waterloo, Illinois. Her special interests include dermatology, dentistry, preventive medicine, and internal medicine.

Dr. Howard has four spoiled fur babies, Dexter Leopold, a seven-year-old papillon, Oscar Ross, a six-year-old Yorkie, Molly Jane, a four-year-old blue dapple long haired dachshund, and Stewie, an eight-year-old beagle mix.
